LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities promised a full investigation Tuesday into why deputies riddled a sport utility vehicle and a Compton neighborhood with 120 bullets after the driver led them on a chase, wounding an unarmed driver and possibly striking a deputy. "The question is: Did they have to fire as many rounds as they did?" Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca told NBC's "Today." The driver, identified as 44-year-old Winston Hayes, had four gunshot wounds and was hospitalized in stable condition Tuesday morning, the Sheriff's Department said.Does anyone here see the real problem here? Sheriff Baca, I can answer your question...
No, they didn't have to shoot 120 rounds to hit the perp 4 times!!!! Your deputies need some time on the firing range. If you're gonna put 4 rounds into somebody, it better only take 4 shots - not 120!!!!
The guy was running from the cops and deserved to be shot. But those cops should be fired and stripped of their sidearms because they certainly don't know how to use them. 3.3% accuracy is not marksmanship - my 5-year old could hit a tighter grouping than that blindfolded!!!!
