19 Years Versus 19 Weeks

I'm sick too death of hearing about who's war record is better and who's war record is fraudulent and all of the ensuing "liar, liar, liar" games this election season. So I am going to make this my final post on the matter.

Fact Numero Uno: Terry McAuliffe of the Democratic National Committee and the Kerry campaign first made an issue of George W. Bush's Air National Guard service an issue back in early 2004. The accusation was originally that W. avoided the Vietnam War by joining the Air National Guard. Some enterprising "journalist" must have had difficulty in locating all of W.'s ANG records and circulated the story that he was AWOL. The Bush Administration had difficulty in locating them as well but nevertheless did make them public.

Fact Number Two: John Kerry made his Vietnam war experience the cornerstone of his campaign.

Fact Number Three: John Kerry and John O'Neill, former Swiftee and author of "Unfit for Command," squared off in a debate in 1971 hosted by Dick Cavett. These questions about Kerry's service record did not just come out of thin air recently. This has been festering for 35 years.

Fact Number Four: John Kerry could put all of this to rest if he truly wanted to by simply releasing all of his military service records. Instead of calling the Swiftees liars and sending his bloodhounds out to dig up as much dirt as they can to defame the Swiftees, prove that YOU, John Kerry, are not lying. Even if Kerry is successful in proving that all but one of the Swiftees are liars, that doesn't prove that Kerry is not lying. A four-year-old can follow that logic!

Fact Number Five: Kerry had no problem with the 527 ads when all of the ads that were airing were anti-Bush. The Swiftee ads are a drop in the bucket compared to the avalanche of liberal-funded 527 ads (MoveOn.org being the most prominent.)

Fact Number Six: The information that Kerry has posted on his website has led the Department of the Navy to launch an investigation into his war decorations because Kerry claims to have been awarded a Silver Star with a Combat V. The Navy has stated that no Silver Star has EVER BEEN AWARDED WITH A COMBAT V! <br>
Fact Number Seven: Kerry has repeatedly contradicted his own journals and biography in stating that he spent Christmas Eve 1968 in Cambodia. He went on to include the anecdote that his being there was part of the Nixon Administration's clandestine war in Cambodia. Kerry's own journals place him 50 miles INSIDE VIETNAM on that date. If that weren't enough to blow his story out of the water, the fact that Richard Nixon didn't take office until January 20, 1969 definitely will!!

Fact Number Eight: All of the hub-bub aside concerning his medals and his whereabouts, John Kerry could have simply stated that he had volunteered for service and fought admirably in Vietnam and I honestly believe that most of us would have commended him on the basis of that alone. But apparently, Kerry wasn't satisfied with the unadulterated truth. Just as he has been a gold-digger is his private life, he has been attempting to mine gold in his public life as well.

Fact Number Nine: The medals that he so desperately is trying to lay claim to now are the same medals that he thought so little of when he returned from Vietnam that he claimed to have thrown them over the White House fence. Of course, he later changed his story to throwing someone else's medals and then later recanted again to say that they were actually ribbons, not medals.

Fact Number Ten: I don't think I'm alone on this one - why would a decorated war-hero come home and accuse his fellow comrades in arms of war atrocities? Especially when the we were still at war with a cruel enemy that held thousands of our servicemen in POW camps? Was Kerry so stupid that he didn't realize what he was putting them through? Or was there something more sinister at work here? They say you can tell alot about a person by the company he keeps and since Kerry was prominently at rallies with Hanoi Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden, not to mention meeting with representatives from North Vietnam in Paris, I think we know that his war protesting was done to deliberately bring this country down.

I could sit here and write several more facts about this issue but I'm starting to get tired so I will stop here. I really don't care what the Swiftees have to say about Kerry's war service because I believe that his actions since the war clarify his position beyond a shadow of a doubt. Kerry has proven himself to be a liar on several occaisions. He can't run on his 19 years in the Senate because his record there is open for everyone to see and it ain't pretty. He thought he could run on his 19 weeks in Vietnam 35 years ago and not be questioned. But I guess even after 35 years, you can't escape the truth.
